To make a delicious pear cake with ginger, first preheat the oven to 180°C. Line the base of a pan, possibly round, 20cm in diameter with baking paper.

Cut the pears in half and fill the inside with the previously chopped ginger; then, arrange them on the base of the pan, belly up and using a teaspoon pour half the ginger syrup.

In a bowl, put the previously sifted flour, baking powder and ground ginger. As long as you mix, add the brown sugar and butter.

Continuing to mix, also add the eggs. Mix everything well for about 2 minutes until you get a creamy mixture.

At this point pour the mixture into the pan and level the surface very gently with a spatula.

To bake the cake, place the pan in the center of the oven for 50 minutes. You can check the cooking using a toothpick.

When cooked, take the pear and ginger cake out of the oven and let it cool inside the pan; then remove it by turning the cake upside down on a wire rack, remove the paper and let it cool again.

Finally, you can add a touch of class by adding chopped ginger and leftover ginger syrup to the surface of this wonderful cake.

Useful tips for the preparation of the pear cake with ginger.

For optimal cooking, check with a toothpick: if the toothpick is dry, it will mean that the cake will be ready to be taken out of the oven, conversely if the toothpick is wet, it will mean that a few more minutes of cooking will be needed.
